Jessie C. Haskins, 69, of Dearborn, MI and formerly of Watseka

Jessie C. Haskins, 69, of Dearborn, MI and formerly of Watseka who was a loving father and grandfather to many, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at his daughter’s residence.

Jessie was born on November 15, 1952 in Muncie, IN, the son of Joseph Haskins and Edna Booth Maynard and they both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Randy and Micky Haskins and two sisters, Robin Wilkin and Betty Ann Delk.

He is survived by four daughters, Sarah Haskins of Gary, IN, Jessica Haskins of Salt Lake City, UT, Julie Fakih (Dukhan Byrd) of Dearborn, MI; and Jennifer Rudisill of Watseka; two brothers, Joe Haskins Jr. (Terri) of Muncie, IN and Brian Haskins of Rossville, GA; one sister, Jola Williams of Chattanooga, TN; thirteen grandchildren, Daniel (Mickey) Haskins, Desirae Kincade, Destiny (Dave) Kincade, James Brown Jr., Jorin Brown, Brittany Kilgore, Fatima Fakih, Fadak Fakih, Rawan Fakih, Mohammad Fakih, Quintin Goldsberry, Cameron Goldsberry, and Hailey Goldsberry; thirteen great-grandchildren; best friend and mother to his four children, Lois Boesen of Beecher; and long-term caretaker and family friend, Salina Hernandez.

Jessie graduated in 1971 from Blue River Valley High School in Indiana and graduated in 1976 from Ivy Tech in Indiana. He previously attended Centennial Christian Church in Watseka and most recently attended First United Methodist Church in Watseka. Jessie was self-employed for 25 years as an electronics repair technician, most notably for fifteen of those years having his own shop, Consumer Electronics, inside Hear Here in Watseka. Jessie loved singing and playing the guitar, often for those at Watseka Rehab and Healthcare in Watseka. He enjoyed gardening, walks, tinkering around, and spending time with his family and friends. Jessie’s love for shopping at Mary’s Emporium became without a doubt his favorite store.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Pastor Kara Berg will officiate. Visitation will follow from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at 12:00 p.m. EST on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Tomlinson Cemetery in Muncie, IN.

Flowers may be sent to the Knapp Funeral Home or if you wish to give a memorial, it may be made to the family’s wishes.
