Phyllis Joan Focken, 91, of Cissna Park

Phyllis Joan Focken, 91, of Cissna Park passed away Monday, April 4, 2022 at Heritage Health in Hoopeston. She was born on December 7, 1930 in Claytonville, the daughter of Elmer and Lyda (Mumbert) Boyce. She married Glen E. Focken in Milford on April 15, 1951 and he preceded her in passing on November 10, 2013.

Surviving are three sons, Ron (Patricia) Focken of Phoenix, AZ, Darryl (Lisa) Focken of Cissna Park, and Randy (Candace) Focken of St. Peters, MO; her grandchildren, Mark (Sarah) Focken of Phoenix, AZ, Payton Focken of Cissna Park, Kaitlyn (Keegan) O’Connor of Greenwood, IN, Kaitlyn’s mother, Sandy Focken of New Albany, IN, Macy (Trace) Coleman of Gilbert, AZ, Melissa (Dave) Houglum of Scappoose, OR, Matt (Rebekah) Ruegg of Overland Park, KS, Mitchell (Liz) Ruegg of Wentzville, MO; and her great-grandchildren, Addison Focken, Dylan Focken, Finn O’Connor, Rory O’Connor, Brixton Coleman, Noah, Naomi and Owen Houglum, Easton Ruegg and Mackenzie Ruegg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Fern Hofer, Floy Landon and Helen Yergler; and four brothers, Vic Boyce, Bill Boyce, Wayne Boyce and Earl Boyce.

She was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Crescent City. Joan was an avid sports enthusiast. She loved attending her sons and later her grandchildren’s sporting events.

Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2022 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Cissna Park. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Cissna Park. Rev. Joel Brown will officiate. Burial will follow in Amity Cemetery in Goodwine.

Memorials may be made to Cissna Park Athletics or the American Heart Association.
