Ronald E. Sheppard, 79, of Chatsworth, Illinois

Ronald E. Sheppard, 79, of Chatsworth, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022, in Ft. Myers, Florida.

A service will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Chatsworth on Monday march 21, 2022 at 11:00am with Fr. David Sabel officiating. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00pm at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Chatsworth and an hour before the service on Monday at the church. Burial will follow the service at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in rural Chatsworth, Illinois.

Ronald was born June 3, 1942, in Lafayette, Indiana, the son of Eugene and Marcella (Jennett) Sheppard. He married Karen Poling on December 29, 1962, in Hoopeston, Illinois. She survives in Chatsworth. Also surviving are: his children, Christopher Sheppard of Chatsworth, Brian (Joyce) Sheppard of Chatsworth, and Teresa Sheppard of Coral Springs, Florida; his five grandchildren, Sara (Paul) Musial, Rachael (Rick) Sheppard, Jaclyn (Justin) Thomas, Darby Rodgers, and Ken Rodgers; his six great-grandchildren; his three brothers, Steve Sheppard of Hoopeston, Neil (Connie) Sheppard of St. Anne, and Duane (Linda) Sheppard of Hoopeston; his three sisters, Gayle (Pete) Davito of Georgia, Joellyn (Mark) Hamm of Tilton, and Jeannine (Donnie) Arvik of Colfax.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Judy Becker, brother-in-law, Steve Becker, and sister-in-law, Virginia Sheppard.

Ronald graduated from Hoopeston High School. He worked for Ameren CIPS for 41 years. He served as a volunteer fireman for the Chatsworth Fire Dept.. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Chatsworth Fire Department or to the Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Chatsworth.
