Harry J. Welsh, 86, of Watseka passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka. He was born on March 24, 1935 in Steubenville, OH, the son of Harry A. and Marion N. (Rawlins) Welsh. He married Joanne Ogilvie in Euclid, OH on December 10, 1955.
Surviving are his wife, Joanne Welsh of Watseka; two sons, James (Noberly) Welsh of Kissimmee, FL and David (Kerstin) Welsh of St. Cloud, FL; two daughters, Lori Allen (Jeff Sheurman) of Quincy, IL and Joanne Welsh Evans (Jeff Raithel) of East Peoria, IL; step mother, Dulce M. Welsh of West Palm Beach, FL; two step sisters, Alina Alonza of West Palm Beach, FL and Barbara (Dave) Floering of West Palm Beach, FL; daughter in law, Lori DeBlauw of Arlington Heights, IL; sister in law, Diane (Jim) Kemp of Bermuda Dunes, CA; seventeen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
Mr. Welsh was preceded in death by his parents; one son, William Welsh; one grandson, Joey Taylor; step father, George Sikorski; father in law, David Ogilvie; and sister in law, Maryann Ogilvie.
Harry retired from UARCO in 1990 and later worked as a greeter at Wal Mart where he enjoyed his conversations with the customers. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and going to the beach. He was a member of Watseka American Legion Post 23 and Watseka Elks Lodge 1791.
Cremation rites are being handled by Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
