Daniel R. Adams, 76, of Watseka passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022 at his home. He was born on August 24, 1945 in Watseka, the son of Robert and Carroll (Webster) Adams. He married Marcia Marcier at St. Edmund Catholic Church in Watseka on February 28, 1965. He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
Surviving are his wife, Marcia Adams of Watseka; one daughter, Luci (Randy) DeFauw of Wood River, IL; two sons, Daniel R. Adams II of Watseka and Alex (Jessica) Adams of Donovan; five grandchildren, Jacob DeFauw, Dylan (Mercedez) DeFauw, Adrienne Adams (Tristan Thompsen), Hunter Adams, and Sawyer Adams; and two great grandchildren, Jackson and Carter.
Dan was proud in the fact that he worked on the corner of 5th and Walnut for over 40 years at several service stations. He was especially grateful for his time at Pence’s and enjoyed greeting and meeting many people over the years. He served on the Watseka Fire Department from July 1964 until April 2001 and was Fire Chief from 1993-2001. Mr. Adams enjoyed fishing in Canada, hunting at The Timber, and was very proud that he was able to take each of his grandchildren to Canada over the years. He loved spending time with his family and entertaining his friends and customers up town.
Cremation rites are being handled by Baier Funeral Home in Watseka.
A memorial service will be at 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Centennial Christian Church in Watseka. Joe Hughes will officiate. A memorial visitation will be from 1:00 until the 3:00 pm service.
