Larry Edward Eheart, 74, of Gilman

Larry Edward Eheart, 74, of Gilman passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington. He was born January 28, 1947 in Streator, the son of Franklin “Jack” and LaVerne (Currie) Eheart and they preceded him in death in addition to one sister, Julene Eheart. He married Debra L. Godwin on June 15, 1968 in Happy Valley Goose Bay, Labrador, Canada and she preceded him in death on June 21, 2006.

He is survived by one daughter, Angelique (Steven) Kemarly of Gilman; two sons, Franklin (Tammy) Eheart of Conway, SC and Andrew (Jennifer) Eheart of Watseka; one sister, Janice (David) Schoon of Danforth; nine grandchildren, Jacob Eheart, Alley Eheart, Megan Kemarly, Anna Eheart, Hannah Eheart, Damon Eheart, Lilian Eheart, Emily Eheart and Stephanie Whipple; one great-granddaughter, Ashlynn Whipple; and two nieces, Milisa (Chris) Benjamin of Essex and Michelle (Todd) Hull of Danforth.

Larry served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. He was an EMT for the Gilman Ambulance for many years, worked at Uarco for 30 years, was a part time mechanic at Kuipers Dealership in Gilman, and in his retirement, worked part time for Gilman Fertilizer. He graduated from Gilman High School. Larry enjoyed farming, working on vehicles and having coffee at K&H.

A graveside service will be at 1:00 pm on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at the Gilman Cemetery. Rev. Bob Blumberg will officiate. Military graveside rites will be by the Gilman American Legion Post #499.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or Family’s Wishes.

Arrangements are by the Knapp-Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman.
