Charles R. King, 84, of Sheldon passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021 at South Holland Manor in South Holland. He was born on November 27, 1936 in Iroquois, the son of Charles V. and Vivian (Frye) King. He married Janice “Jane” Fry in Watseka and she survives.

In addition to his wife, Jane King of Sheldon, Charles is survived by three sons, Rick (Karen) King of Watseka, Rodney King of Panama City, Florida, and Rolland King of Lafayette, IN; one step-son, Jerry (Jessica) Cotter of Iroquois; one step-daughter, Janice Cotter of Watseka; one sister, Carol Ann (Steve) Hiett of Virginia; one brother, Howard (Merlene) King of Kentland, IN; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and his favorite dog, Bella.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his half-brother, Paul Frye; and one grandson, Ryan King.

Charles enjoyed horseback riding and participated in a 100-mile trail ride and especially enjoyed his grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Sheldon Cemetery. Pastor Gary Minard will officiate.
