Arthur W. Yergler, 84, of Addison

Arthur W. Yergler, 84, of Addison passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Amita Hospice in Elk Grove Village. He was born on August 31, 1936 in Cissna Park, the son of William and Esther (Bauer) Yergler.

He married Roseann Zahn-Yergler in Palos Park on May 12, 2007 and she survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Heidi (John) Herrmann of Manhattan and Jori (Scott) Mendel of La Jolla, CA; one son, Daniel (Margota) Yergler of Stockholm, Sweden; eight grandchildren, Aidan, Zoe, and Oliver Mendel, Elias and Sofia Yergler, and Karleigh, Michelle, and Nicolas Herrmann; one sister, Mary Anne (Buss) Rassi of Milford, IN; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Yergler of Cissna Park; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wally and Harry Yergler; and one son, William “Billy” Yergler.

Mr. Yergler was a member of Compass Church in Wheaton and was a choir director for 35 years at Rich Central High School in Olympia Fields. He was a member of many music associations over the years and traveled throughout Europe with his high school choirs. Art also enjoyed golf and was caddy master at Olympia Fields Country Club for 10 years. He was an avid Cubs fan, and enjoyed visiting with people and telling stories.

Private funeral services will be held at the Christian Bible Church in Cissna Park on Monday, November 9, 2020. Burial will follow at the Cissna Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Compass Church in Wheaton or the Christian Bible Church in Cissna Park.
