Katherine S. Hitchens, 70, of Piper City passed away on October 18, 2020 at Piper City Rehab. She was born on July 20, 1950 in Fairbury, the daughter of Milan and Betty (Read) Hitchens. She was preceded in death by both of her parents.

Surviving are one brother, Sam Hitchens (Norman Laugavitz) of Beaufort, SC; one sister Debbie (Toby) Beninati of Melbourne, FL; a special niece, Crystal (Ryan) Walski of Melbourne, FL; and three great nieces, Kenley, Mina, and Abigail Tara.

Cremation rites have been accorded by Knapp-Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman. A memorial service will take place at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross.
