Ryland Snow, 77, of St. Joseph, formerly of Gilman and Herscher

Ryland Snow, 77, of St. Joseph, formerly of Gilman and Herscher, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at his residence in St. Joseph. He was born on February 5, 1942 in Watseka, the son of Carl and Mary (Cordray) Snow and they preceded him in death. Ryland married Arlene M. Schuler in Gilman on September 19, 1964 and she preceded him in death on September 30, 2016. In addition to his wife and parents, Ryland was preceded in death by his brother, Ted Snow and his sister, Audrey Richardson. 

Mr. Snow is survived by two sons, David C. Snow of Columbus, OH and Steven S. (Peggy Brown) Snow of Gilman; four grandchildren, R.C. (Nicole Johnson) Snow, Jackie Snow, Nicole (Dakota) Snow-Reardon, and Mike Snow; one sister, Ann Foreman of Tuscola; one sister-in-law, Joan Snow of Decatur; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Mr. Snow served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. Ryland was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gilman. He loved fishing, camping, and tinkering with old cars. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and pets. Mr. Snow worked as a barber and later worked for Natural Gas Pipeline in Herscher. 

Visitation will be Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Knapp-Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman. Rod Snow will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridgeland Twp. Cemetery in Thawville. Military graveside rites by Gilman American Legion Post #499.
