Arik Dean Eldert, 41, of Danforth and formerly of Redondo Beach, CA passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until the 7:00 pm funeral service on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the United Methodist Church of Gilman. Rev. Malcom Jones will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Galesburg.

Memorials may be made to Zane's education fund or to the donor's choice.

Arik was born on July 31, 1977 in Kankakee, the son of William K. "Bill" and Jennefer (Wetherford) Eldert. His childhood was spent in the Gilman, Danforth and Onarga area. He graduated from Iroquois West High School in 1995. Arik worked in the sales/food service in Illinois and California.

He is survived by his mother, Jennefer Eldert of Danforth; sister, Andrea K. Eldert of Gilman; brother, Aaron W. (Maralee) Eldert of Remington, Indiana; two nephews, Zane G. Eldert and Kevin Adkins; three nieces, Anna Adkins, Joelle Dieckmann and Megan Click; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Arik was preceded in death by his father, William K. “Bill” Eldert; grandparents and uncles, Maurice Haptonstall, Maurice Eldert and Ward "Butch" Cruise.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Gilman.
