David A. Meyer, 55, a lifelong resident of Gilman

David A. Meyer, 55, a lifelong resident of Gilman, Illinois passed away at 10:29 A.M., Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at the Iroquois Memorial Emergency Room in Watseka, Illinois following a sudden illness. His funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday, November 5, 2018 at the Danforth Reformed Church in Danforth, Illinois with Rev. Donald J. MacDonald III officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M., Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Memorials may be made to the Donor's Choice.

David was born on June 22, 1963 in Fairbury, Illinois to Arnold Meyer and Doris Finckbone. His mother Patricia Louise (Zirkle) Meyer raised him from an early childhood. His childhood was spent in Gilman and he graduated from the last class of Gilman High School in 1981.

He married Rhonda R. Hall on September 10, 1994 in Watseka. She survives.
David is also survived by his children Aimee Meyer of South Bend, Indiana; Zak (Brittany) Trumann of Sanford, Florida; Morgan Essington of Kankakee, Illinois; Dani Meyer of Gilman, two grandsons Logan Trainor and Wyatt Trumann, his father Arnold Meyer of Gilman, mother Doris Lavender of Watseka and his siblings Jim (Melissa) Meyer of Danforth, Robert (Kimberly) Meyer of Phoenix, Arizona; Paul Meyer of Pontiac, Illinois and Sandi (Marty) Weaver of Gilman. David was preceded in death by his mother Patricia Meyer, a sister Lori Ann Meyer and a brother Earl Thomas Meyer.

He attended the Danforth Reformed Church.
David owned and operated Dave's Carpentry and was the General Contractor.
He had been a member of the Iroquois Highlife Pool League. He was an avid card player and enjoyed shooting pool, cooking, gardening, canning, watching the Cubs and loved his German Shepherds.
