Homer M. “Buddy” Withrow, 83, of Galatia, IL and formerly of Chebanse passed away on August 29, 2018 at Linda White Hospice in Evansville, IN. He was born on September 27, 1934 in Charleston, WV, the son of Homer W. and Thelma M. (Rayhill) Withrow. He married Mary Ann Schafer in Chebanse on August 22, 1959 and she survives.
In addition to his wife, Mary, Homer is survived by two daughters, Jane Withrow of Long Beach, CA and Tena (Michael) Peterson of Eldorado, IL; three sons, Paul (Diane) Withrow of Chebanse, Roger (Rita) Withrow of Galatia, IL and Eric Withrow (fiancé – Tracy) of Harrisburg, IL; one brother, George Withrow of West Virginia; two sisters, Kathryn Lanza of Boston, MA and Garnet Campbell of Florida; nine grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
Homer was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, James, Ernest and Harold; and one sister, Gloria J. Fraser.
Mr. Withrow was a member of Sts. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church in Chebanse. He drove a truck for Chebanse Ag.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 5, at Sts. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church in Chebanse. Fr. Doug Hauber will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Chebanse.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 4, at Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton.
