LeRoy H. Krumwiede, 87, of Clifton

LeRoy H. Krumwiede, 87, of Clifton passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at his home. He was born January 31, 1931 in Buckley, the son of Emil and Theda Hankey Krumwiede. He married Alberta H. Papineau on June 26, 1954 in Clifton and she preceded him in death on February 18, 2011. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lial Krumwiede; one sister, Verna Heimlich; and one great-grandchild, Lonnie Sweeney.

He is survived by one daughter, Crystal Krumwiede of Clifton; two sons, Michael (Nancy) Krumwiede of Paxton and David Krumwiede of Chicago; four grandchildren, Amy Jo (Ben) Schunke of Gilman, Michael (Tamara) Sweeney Sr. of Lake Village, IN, Brian Krumwiede of Paxton and Drew (Shelley) Krumwiede of Paxton; nine great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Gerald (Monica) Papineau of Providence, KY; seven nieces; three nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mr. Krumwiede served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. LeRoy worked at Baron-Huot Oil Company for 35 years. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Clifton, Clifton American Legion, Chebanse Twp. Fire Department, having served as assistant chief and chief, Clifton Sportsman’s Club and was a former member of the Clifton Lion’s Club. LeRoy was Scout Master for the Clifton Boy Scouts, coached for the Clifton Little League Association, and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Clifton. Rev. Ray Bowers will officiate. Burial will be in the Clifton Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 pm on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
