Virginia Herron, 100, of Watseka passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the Iroquois Resident Home in Watseka. She was born on February 2, 1918 in Watseka, the daughter of Wilbur and Edna Wockner Ash. Virginia married Ray Herron in Watseka on June 28, 1936 and he preceded her in death on May 8, 1998.

Survivors include one daughter, Donna (Joe) Steever of Alloway, NJ; two grandchildren, David (Mary Jane) Brezette of Dallas, TX and Barbara Martin Brezette of Farmers Branch, TX; four great-grandchildren, William (Drew) Brezette, Reed Brezette, Jack Brezette and Amy Martin.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Virginia was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Watseka, Beta Sigma Phi, and charter member of Watseka Junior Women’s Club. She volunteered for the American Red Cross and American Cancer Society.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the 10:30 am funeral service on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Officiating will be Rev. Robert Sabo. Private burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watseka.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Watseka, Iroquois Memorial Hospice or donor’s choice.
