Watseka Police Department News 10/1/18

Watseka Police responded to a report of a found hypodermic needle in the 400 block of S Fourth at 8:41 A.M. on 10-01-18.

Watseka Police investigated a report of a violation of an order of protection in the 1200 block of E Walnut at 9:20 A.M. on 10-01-18,

Watseka Police investigated a two-vehicle accident in the Slick's parking lot at 11:34 A.M. on 10-01-18. According to Police reports, a vehicle driven by Henry R Jones, 75 Watseka was backing from a parking space and struck a parked vehicle belonging to Joseph Lock of Goodland IN. No injuries were reported and Jones was issued a citation operation of a motor vehicle without insurance.

Watseka Police responded to a report of criminal damage to property in the 200 block of E Fairman that ultimately led to an arrest. Clifford T Lane, 84 Watseka was arrested at 1:10 P.M. for criminal damage to property. Lane was I-Bonded and was released.

Watseka Police responded to a report of a theft in the 500 block of N Fifth at 2:12 P.M. on 10-01-18.

Watseka Police investigated a report of a violation of an order of protection in the 1200 block of E Walnut at 3:32 P.M. on 10-01-18.

Watseka Police responded to a 911 hang up in the 1400 block of E Walnut at 3:53 P.M. on 10-01-18.

Watseka Police responded to a report of a disturbance In the 300 block of N Third at 2:00 P.M. on 09-29-18.

Watseka Police investigated a report of retail theft in the 1700 block of E Walnut at 5:37 P.M. on 09-28-18.

Watseka Police were called to the 500 block of E Porter at 10:50 A.M. on 09-30-18 for a dog bite. Animal control was contacted about the matter.

Watseka Police arrested Jeffery W Norris, 44 Watseka at 11:14 A.M. on 09-30-18 for driving while license suspended. Norris was transported to the Iroquois County jail.

Watseka Police responded to a report of trespassing in the 100 block of W Park Ave at 2:16 P.M. on 09-30-18.

Watseka Police responded to a report of a suspicious person in the 1700 block of N County hwy 27 at 3:22 P.M. on 09-30-18.

Watseka Police Investigated a report of a reckless driver on Rt 1 at 6:08 P.M. on 09-30-18.

Watseka Police responded to a report of theft in the 1700 block of E Walnut at 6:31 P.M. on 09-30-18.

Watseka Police investigated a report of illegal burning in the 300 block of N Kay at 9:23 P.M. on 09-30-18.

Watseka Police arrested Hery D Gomez-Bernal in the 200 block of W Walnut at 10:00 P.M. on 09-30-18. Gomez-Bernal was charged with domestic battery and resisting a police officer. Gomez-Bernal was transported to the Iroquois County jail.

Watseka Police investigated a report of drug activity in the 400 block of W Walnut at 12:29 A.M. on 10-01-18.

Watseka Police responded to a report of a violation of an order of protection in the 200 block of N Brianna at 9:12 A.M. on 09-28-18.

Watseka Police investigated a one vehicle accident in the Casey's parking lot at 11:09 A.M. on 09-28-18. According to Police reports, a vehicle driven by John W Ealy, 28 Watseka was pulling into the jot and his brakes failed, causing him to strike the building. Ealy was issued a citation for operation of a vehicle without insurance. No injuries were reported.

Watseka Police were called to a report of a civil matter in the 500 block of N Fourth at 7:11 P.M. on 09-28-18,

Watseka Police investigated a vehicle-pedestrian accident in the 200 block of W Oak, According to Police reports a vehicle driven by Wayne E Feller, 57 Watseka was turning into a parking lot when a bicycle being ridden by a 15 yo juvenile pulled in front of him. The juvenile then laid the bike down and slid under the semi-trailer. The juvenile was transported to IMH with non-life threatening injuries.

Watseka Police responded to a report of a child custody matter in the 200 block of N Fifth at 6:46 A.M. on 09-29-18.
