Watseka Police Department News 8/2/18

Police responded to a business alarm In the 1400 block of E. Walnut at 9:04am. The alarm was found to be false.

Police responded to a local business in reference to a counterfeit $20.00 bill at 10:02 am. The bill was confiscated,

Police conducted a traffic stop on Jefferson near North St. at 11:43 am for speeding. A verbal warning was given.

Police responded to the 300 block of N, Kay St. at 1:59 pm in reference to an elderly subject that seemed confused. On investigation the male subject, Lester Fisher, 71, Indiana, was found to have an active warrant out of IN, He was placed into custody and transported to the County Jail,

Police were called to the 400 block of W, Mulberry in reference to Harassment by Telephone at 2:39 pm,

Police responded to an alarm at a local business in the 700 block of E, Elm at 2;57 pm. The alarm was false.

Police responded to the 500 block of E, Oak St. at 5:55 pm for an unwanted person.

Police issued a verbal warning for Illegal Burning In the SOO block of N. 5th St, at 6:10 pm,

Police responded to a verbal domestic in the 100 block of E. North St. at 6:12 pm.

Police were requested to do a welfare check on a subject in the 800 block of W. Newell at 8:57 pm.

Police responded to a prowler In the 300 block of W. Elm at 9:21 pm,

Police conducted a traffic Stop at Walnut/ 8th at 2:13 am. A verbal warning for failing to Stop at a stop sign was issued.

Police responded to a burglary in the 500 block of 5, 4th St. at 8:03 am.

Police responded to a 911 hang up call in the 1400 block of E. Walnut at 10:31 am, The call was accidental,

Police responded to a Battery complaint in the 1000 block of W, Smith St. at 10;36 am.

Police responded to a verbal domestic in the 200 block of N. 5th St, at 11:06 am, Police responded to a dog bite call in the 200 block of E, Cherry St at 11:14 am.

Police responded to a property line dispute In the 500 block of N, 5 th St. at 1:12 pm,

Police responded to a local bu5iness in the 300 block of N. 3rd St. at 2:12 pm for a found wallet.

Police responded to a suspicious person In the 100 block of W. Washington at 3:44 pm,

 

Police Issued several written warnings for City Ordinance violations, These included 1 for excessive grass height, 8 for Inoperable/ Abandoned vehicles and 2 for furniture/W In yard,

Police conducted a traffic stop at Elm and 6th St. at 3:52 pm. A verbal warning was issued for a Stop sign violation.

Police arrested Christopher Ross, 32, Watseka, on an outstanding Iroquois County Warrant charging him with FTA on a Battery charge at 4:12 pm in the 400 block of E, Oak. He was transported to the County Jail,

Police were called to a Domestic Disturbance in the 200 block of N. 4th St. at 5:02pm. Arrested at the scene was Kay Laird, 52, Watseka, for Domestic Battery. She was transported to the County Jail,

Police were called to the 200 block of N. 4th St, in reference to a battery at 5:18pm. On arrival it was determined the offending party had fled the scene.

Police responded to calls in the 600 block of S, Belmont at 9:51pm for possible gun shots, It was later determined to be fireworks.

Police responded to a domestic dispute at 2nd and Adams at Il;56pm, It was determined to be a verbal dispute and both parties were separated,

Police responded to squatters in the 700 block of E. Walnut at 8:01am: the subjects were removed,

Police responded to trespassers in the 700 Block of E. Walnut at 8:12 am, The subjects were located and trespass warned for the property.

Police responded to a Violation of an Order of Protection in the SOO block of St. at 9:23 am on arrival it was determined to Order had not been served, ICSD was contacted and Deputies arrived and served the Order,

Police responded to a lockout In the 1000 block of E, Grant at 11:01 am.

Police responded to an overdose in the 1100 block of E, Walnut St, IMH Ambulance arrived and revived the subject who declined further medical attentiom

Police responded to trespassers in the 500 block of E. Walnut, The subjects were removed.

Police conducted a traffic stop at North and Wabash at 1:37 pm. A verbal warning was Issued for a stop sign violation.

Police responded to a found hypodermic needle in the 400 block of N, 4th St. at 2:28 pm. The needle was confiscated.

Police arrested Todd Brady, 48, Watseka, at 4th and Walnut at 2:45 pm on an outstanding Kankakee

County warrant charging him with Delivery of a Controlled Substance. He was transported to the

Iroquois County Jail,

Police responded to a theft of an air conditioner In the 100 block of E. Locust at 2:45 Ppm.

Police responded to a found hypodermic needle and a purse in the 300 block of W, Victory St. at 3:28 pm. The Items were collected.

Police responded to a business alarm on old IJ,S, HYW 24 at 5:47 pm, The alarm was false.

Police conducted a traffic stop on Walnut near Brianna Dr, at 9:17pm, A verbal warning was given for equipment.

Police responded to a possible intoxicated driver on Walnut E/B. at 9:57 pm, Police were no able to locate the vehicle.

Police responded to a domestic dispute at a local business in the 200 block of W, Walnut at 9:59 pm.

On arrival it was found that one of the parties had left,

Police Issued 2 written warnings for city ordinance violations- these were both for furniture in yards.
