On Wednesday, March 7, 2018, the Iroquois County Sheriff's Office investigated a fatal two car accident at the intersection of County Roads 2300 N and 300 E. 64 year-old Gregory Ainsworth of rural Danforth, IL, was westbound on County Road 2300 N when he was struck on the driver's side by a northbound vehicle being driven by 52 year-old Terri Vadebcincoeur of Onarga, IL. Mr, Ainsworth was pronounced dead at the scene by Iroquois County Coroner Bill Cheatum, while Ms. Vadeboncoeur and a passenger in her vehicle were transported to Riverside Hospital in Kankakee, IL, with non-life threatening injuries. The Sheriff's Office, which continues to investigate the accident in conjunction with the Iroquois County Coroner's Office, was assisted at the scene by the Danforth Fire Department and Riverside Ambulance.
