Benjamin H. Hollis, 72, of Stockland passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at his daughter’s home in Watseka. He was born on January 24, 1947 in Wardell, MO, the son of Virgil and Pearly (Petty) Hollis.

Survivors include one daughter, Shantel (Tim) Jacobs of Watseka; one son, Jamie (Corrina) Hollis of Ashland, KY; two sisters, Myrna “Anne” Newton and Mary Lou Newton of Hayti, MO; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Davy Hollis; and thirteen brothers and sisters.

Ben enjoyed fishing and traveling to visit his family.

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 30, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Knapp Funeral Home (219 S. 4th St.) in Watseka. An additional visitation will be on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 1:00-2:00 pm at John W. German Funeral Home (208 N. 3rd St.) in Hayti, MO. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Paul Quinn officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Hayti, MO.
