Marvin E. Kollmann, 82, of Watseka

Marvin E. Kollmann, 82, of Watseka passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019 at his home. He was born November 3, 1936 in Blue Island, the son of William and Emma (Schilling) Kollmann and they preceded him in death. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer and Walter Kollmann. Marvin married Arlene Storz in Blue Island on November 30, 1957 and she survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Mark (Jill) Kollmann of Martinton; two daughters, Linda (Bradley) Baer of El Paso and Lori (Steve) Woodard of Washington; eight grandchildren, Kristin (Jacob) Jones, Evan (Jessica) Kollmann, Seth (Katlyn) Woodard, Ashley (Brad) Moritz, Emily (Nick) Zabel, William Woodard, Lucas Wall and fiancé Ashley Mehl, and Elyssa Kollmann; one sister in law, Velora Kollmann of Crescent City; and six great-grandchildren.


Marvin was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Watseka, a lifelong farmer, and enjoyed raising Angus cattle. In addition, he was the Beef Superintendent of Iroquois County 4-H for many years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka and one hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. funeral service that will be held Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Watseka. Rev. G. Robert Heimgartner will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Lyman Cemetery in Watseka.
