Helen Mary Enders (Rathburn), NEE Piotrowicz – Age 90 passed to our Lord on 25 May 2018 in Watseka, Ill. She was born 28 January, 1928 in LaPorte, Indiana the daughter of the late Joseph and Barbara Piotrowicz of Fish Lake, Indiana.
She married Meredith “Pete” Rathburn on 8 June, 1946 in LaPorte, Indiana. He preceded her in passing in 1966. She is also preceded in death by step-daughter, Nancy Kujawski (Jim).
One of 10 children she is survived by brother Joseph “Babe” Piotrowicz (Peggy). Her children Barbara Rowland (Chuck), Diana Gooding (Richard), Michael Rathburn, and Jeffery Rathburn (Angela); step-son Larry Enders (DeLina) Grandchildren Charles Rowland (Amy), Christina Rowland, Joseph Gooding, Erin Debolt (Josh), Megan Gooding (Lynn), Jason Gooding (Jill), and Colena and Shayan Rathburn. Step-grandchildren, Bret Enders, Blake Enders, Melanie Kujawski, and Lisa Badell (Jeff). Great Grandchildren Charlie, Benjamin, Oaklyn, Victoria, and Clayton; step-great grandchildren, Katie Kujawski and Olivia Badell.
Helen moved to Sheldon, Illinois in 1971. She met and married Gene Enders in 1973, who survives her today.
Helen lived a full and active life. She was a beautiful seamstress, became a licensed hair dresser, and loved to cook. Her Pierogis were so good the whole family would gather at home to help make them and get their share! Helen was also a devout member of St Joseph Catholic Church in Kentland, IN.
Visitation will be held at Baier Funeral Home at 102 W. Oak St.; Watseka, IL 60970 on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 5-8pm, with Rosary at 4:45pm. Funeral Mass will take place at St Joseph Catholic Church at 409 E Allen St; Kentland, IN 47951 on Saturday, June, 2, 2018 at 11:00 AM, Fr Robert Bernotas will officiate. A small gathering will be held following services. Interment will be held at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery in Walkerton, IN.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice (200 North Laird Lane; Watseka, IL 60970) and St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kentland, IN.
