Erma Martin Tebo, 92, of Cissna Park

Erma Martin Tebo, 92, of Cissna Park passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018 at her residence. Erm was born on February 5, 1926 in Buckley, the daughter of Benjamin F. and Lillian Feller Kaufmann. She married Maurice “Dutch” Martin in Cissna Park on June 13, 1948 and he preceded her in death on August 13, 1992. She later married Roger Tebo on September 28, 1996 and he passed away on July 31, 2008.

Survivors include three daughters, Mic (Ralph) Henrichs of Cissna Park, Audrey (Carl) Block of Mesa, AZ, and Denise Horner of Rantoul; one son, Rex Martin of Champaign; two sisters, Arlene Gutwein of Surprise, AZ, and Dorothy (Joel) Koonce of Watseka; two sisters-in-law, Irene Lowe of Watseka and Engel Kaufmann of Watseka; one step-daughter, Pauline Scharf of Oswego; one step-daughter-in-law, Kate Tebo of Chillicothe; eleven grandchildren Nick Willoughby, Jeremy Willoughby, Adam Martin, Ben Henrichs, Lizzie Blunier, Joey Henrichs, Andy Henrichs, Joshua Block, Amanda Thompson, Martin Horner and Mason Horner; and twenty-three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Leslie Kaufmann, Marvin Kaufmann, and Harry Kaufmann; three sisters, Evelyn Hartman, Wilma Light, and Viola Redman; one son, Randall Martin, and one step-son, Mark Tebo.

Erm was a painter and wall paper hanger for over 35 years and still enjoyed painting for her friends and family. Just last week she helped paint her great-granddaughters bedroom.

One of her greatest joys was spending time with her children, grandchildren and then great-grandchildren. She loved babysitting them, taking them on golf cart rides, hosting them for sleepovers, and watching their activities. She was a member of Grace Bible Church and enjoyed hosting in her weekly ladies bible study. She served at her church as an AWANA leader for many years and was known as the jello lady at the Sunday Diner.

Visitation will be from 4:00–7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Cissna Park as well as one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday at church.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Grace Bible Church in Cissna Park with Rev. Trey Scheffer officiating. Burial will be in the Cissna Park Cemetery.
