Jackie “Jack” L. Karr, 88, of Iroquois passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018 at his home. He was born May 18, 1929 in Iroquois, the son of Bennett and Atlas Bridgewater Karr. He married Georgine “Jean” Boss on September 30, 1960 in Manhattan, IL and she preceded him in death on November 27, 2001. He was also preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bobbie Karr, Rex Karr and Bennett Karr Jr.; one sister, Linda Lou Karr; and four sons, Ronald Karr, Donald Karr, Roger Karr and John Fry.
He is survived by three sons, Dennis (Vicki) Karr of Donovan, Jim Fry of Austin, TX and Bennett (Judy) Karr of Murray, KY; two daughters, Joyce (Larry) Johnson of Oakland, IL and Sheila (Jeff) LaGesse of Bradley; one sister, Doris June Hisel of Bradley; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Karr was Mayor of the Village of Iroquois from 1989-2017. He loved his dog, Lady.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral service on Monday, March 26, 2018 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Rev. John Franklin will officiate. Burial will be in Prairie Dell Cemetery at Iroquois.
